Read Across America is NEXT FRIDAY, March 2nd!

We are going to have a week long celebration, so here are the fun dress up/events for EACH day! Each day will represent a
different book!

We will have a window/door decorating contest! The winner for each grade level, ancillary team, leadership team,
and SPED department will be able to shop ($25) at the Book Fair on ME!!! We want to see EVERYONE participate!

Thanks for attending Aldine’s Annual Technology and Curriculum Conference of Aldine (aka TCCA)! Your iTech truly appreciates your decision to learn, explore and grow in the world of technology.

Things to help you prepare for TCCA:

• comfy shoes              
• Fully charged digital device or two                 

(ipads/tablets, your chromebook and smartphones preferred)

• A portable battery (there will be some charging stations)                                                                     
• Preload the following apps:         
• TCCA App
• (Google Drive (all apps),
• Twitter, Google Hangouts, Instagram
• AND NEW: the Goosechase APP!!!

In order for you to get credit for each challenge, you must include the following:

• in your Twitter postings #TCCA17 or #TCCAQuest and @GreensptElem and/or @SVicGlass

Guys, this year is different for so MANY reasons but one this is...this cool app called Goosechase!  Before the entire knee situation I purchased goodies for the TOP 10 educators at Greenspoint who find me at TCCA.

The top winner of this scavenger hunt wins double the prizes--from TCCA and me as well! So here’s how YOU can earn goodies!!!

Participants can join the game by following these steps (NOTE: I’m forwarding you ALL the directions for this immediately after posting this blog post!

1. Download the GooseChase iPhone or Android app.
2. Register for an account.
3. Search for the "TCCA 2017 Scavenger Hunt" game from the games page in the app.
4. The password is TCCAQUEST
5. Join the game & start playing!

This scavenger hunt is time sensitive and will end on Sunday at 6pm. It cuts itself off--not me!  

HINT: The prizes are various forms of Technology!!!!

You can help others and get others to help you!  It will be a VERY busy event but if you need Mrs. Glass, REMIND Me! Seriously, I’m the Presenters’ Chair for the event and the main form of communication is REMIND (use Greenspoint Remind group) and Twitter!!!!  

I know it’s crazy that I’m going to TCCA--but I have worked crazy hard on this for the past 365 days and will be there (very still and hidden) supporting you all and the presenters!

Which Which: Teachers with ID who are Which Wich Vibe Club Rewards members receive a free cookie with the purchase of a regular sandwich. Offer valid May 1 - May 5. Check your e-mail for a coupon to print out or show at the register to get the offer.

SeaWorld — Texas teachers can play at SeaWorld with free unlimited admission through December 31, 2016, thanks to the Teacher Appreciation Fun Card. This is for Pre-K through 12th grade active and certified teachers. New this year: a third-party company (ID.me) will provide online verification of Pre-K – 12th grade Texas school teachers. A Department of Education number is required. Sign up online at SeaWorld.

Teacher Appreciation Week is BACK at the Alamo Drafthouse in Houston! Overlapping with National Teacher Appreciation Week, from Thursday, April 27th through Wednesday, May 3rd educators and administrators get free admission to any show at ANY time of the day at various locations. All you'll need is a current ID from your place of employment (preschool, elementary, high schools, university). Homeschooling parents, bring along documentation that shows that you're a teacher and we'll take care of ya too.

In order for you to get credit for each challenge, you must include the following:

Your challenge, if you decide to accept it, is to complete the following activities during your experience at TCCA:

Points	Title of Challenge/Task
15 points	Download the TCCA App and Friend a Greenspoint Educator! Take a screenshot of the connection and email to Mrs. Glass
35 points	Have you USED your Twitter account yet?  Find any iTech to assist you or ask a neighbor how to start if you aren’t sure!   Request to friend Mrs. Glass (@SVicGlass) and throughout the day send at least 2 tweets from sessions you have attended.
25 points	Learn about what PLN stands for and send it to Mrs. Glass. (via Voxer, Twitter or in a direct message in Google+) BONUS: tweet 3 people you have added to your pln with their Twitter handles to Mrs. Glass (ie… @_______, @__________and @_________are now in my PLN @SVicGlass!)
20 points	Need to ask your iTech a question? Use REMIND, Google hangouts or Twitter to communicate with one other GP educator!
25 points	Take a picture with a vendor or their product that you would like to use in your classroom or at Greenspoint (in general). Post it on the GPE Innovate Google+ page or tweet it to Mrs. Glass (@SVicGlass), @GreensptElem and to Ms. Schuler (@whiteconstance1)
30 points	Take a selfie with one of the presenters at TCCA from one of the sessions you attend. Post it in the  Google+ GPE Innovate Community or via twitter to @GreensptElem.
40 points	Share one thing you learned from TCCA and post it on Twitter or Google+! (remember to tag #TCCA16 and @GreensptElem
40 points	Stop by the Connected Lounge for ways to connect with other educators. Take an usie ( a selfie with at least 2 people) you connected with at the Lounge!
50 points	Take a selfie with your iTech! tweet and share via Google+ or Twitter.
10 points	Take a photo with a Greenspoint Elementary educator. For every GP educator in the photo, add 5 points. Photo must be posted via Google+ and/or Twitter. Points are doubled if you include a GP Admin. (ie, Ms. Schuler photographs are 20 points)
30 points	Did you enjoy the keynote! Let her know just how must...Tweet out the keynote! If you catch a photo with her--you earn 100 pts.
30 points	Take a photo with District Administrators--make sure you include their name and Twitter handle! (superintendents, program directors, etc.) Tweet it out or share via Google+

This must be completed before Monday! Have fun! Everyone will get a prize BUT The person who collects the most points gets the GRAND PRIZE!  HINT: It’s a form of Technology!!!!

What’s VOXER? It’s a handy walkie talkie app that allows you to speak and text with anyone. It’s great in crowded loud spaces. You get points for downloading and using the app as well!
